As you may have noticed, there has been a big graduation theme running through my life these past few weeks.
It started with my own high school reunion and culminated with my youngest daughter’s high school graduation.
It has definitely been a time of celebration and reflection.
With all of the nostalgia and passage of time, I find myself wondering what advice would I give to MY younger self if I were to do it all over again?
I would love to say that I have ALL the answers now, but I am still learning. And if I am being really honest, I think I would still make a lot of mistakes.
That said, some things I would definitely do differently:
-I would have worried less about failing. I have learned that there are greater lessons in failure than there are in success.
-I would have had more fun. I took everything way too seriously.
-I would have learned to meditate much sooner. I think it’s a superpower.
-I would have learned to trust that things usually have a way of working themselves out. Especially, if I am patient.
-I would have learned to embrace NOT always getting what I wanted… because sometimes the universe had a BETTER plan for me.
There are so many things I would tell my younger self, and that is the subject of today’s episode of “The OverThinker’s Guide To Joy.” You can listen to it here or on Apple, Spotify, Amazon, or YouTube.

Happy Wednesday!

P.S. Last week’s photo was taken at my high school graduation, and this one is from my college. If you follow me on Instagram, you can see the photos of how differently they do graduation ceremonies here in Hawaii from where I grew up. 🙂
