Walking On Eggshells

June 15, 2022

Is there someone in your life who behaves unpredictably?

It’s as if they are two different people, and you are never sure which version of them you are going to get?

It might be your boss. A friend. Even your significant other.

It seems like one minute they are fun and loving, and the next minute their mood sours, and you become the victim of their wrath.

You might think this is about you. You might even think you can control it.

“If only I don’t do this, then they won’t be upset.”

“If only I do that, then everything will be fine.”

But here’s a little secret…

It’s NOT YOU. It’s THEM.

Your behavior is NOT causing another person to be unpredictable or unstable.

However, YOU may be inadvertently attracting this type of person into your life.  And worse, you may be tolerating it, and therefore perpetuating the cycle.

I know because I did.

I had a history of attracting smart, charismatic friends, bosses, and significant others, but some of them were moody, volatile, and unstable people. I tolerated this pattern because I thought it was the norm, and I was good at “handling” them.

But it left me exhausted, anxious and burned out.

Recognizing the pattern of this behavior and learning tools to set boundaries can be the key to breaking this cycle.

If you feel like you are “walking on eggshells” with someone in your life, then check out today’s episode of The OverThinker’s Guide to Joy. It is available wherever you get your podcasts or just click here.

You deserve to feel comfortable in your relationships both personally and professionally. Stop walking on eggshells and take your power back.  I can help you do that. Just schedule a consultation with me by clicking here.

Happy Wednesday!
