Are you always on the lookout for what might go wrong?
Do you have trouble sleeping because of your endless “To Do” list?
Or when things ARE going well, do you have trouble believing they will last?
In other words, are you looking for problems where there aren’t any?
This is known as hyper-vigilance.
On the positive side, hyper-vigilance can keep you highly motivated and very accountable.
But on the downside, it can leave you feeling always a little dissatisfied and utterly exhausted.
Hyper-vigilance is often a coping mechanism that we develop as children to deal with a chaotic upbringing.
Many of us carry this habit into our adult lives. (Yup, I know it all too well. )
But it doesn’t mean that you are stuck with this pattern… even if it’s been with you your whole life.
If you have the habit of looking for problems (where there aren’t any), check out today’s episode of “The OverThinkers Guide To Joy” wherever you get your podcasts or click here.
If you would like help breaking this habit, let’s schedule a consult. You can do so by clicking here or sending me a message. I look forward to talking to you soon!
Happy Wednesday!
