I hate making mistakes… and I have made my share of them.
Cue the negative self-talk.
Perfectionists are prone to this whenever a mistake is made.
But then I was listening to a lecture on how to rewire our brains from negative self-talk, which reminded me of an important lesson.
When we make mistakes, our brain kicks into gear, figuring out what went wrong and how to fix it.
Learning from our mistakes builds character, because we realize that setbacks are just temporary roadblocks… not dead ends.
Making mistakes can also spark incredible creativity.
Some of the most significant discoveries have been made because someone took a wrong turn and stumbled upon something remarkable. Hello, penicillin and Post-It notes!
Embrace your mistakes because they are likely to be signposts guiding you toward your future success.
Happy Wednesday!
