Hi friends,
It’s summer, meaning the annual pressure to achieve a “summer body” is in full swing. And for what it’s worth, my summer body isn’t “ready” either.
After my fun-filled trip to NYC, I came home with a few extra pounds in my carry-on bag. Okay, not literally—but metaphorically? And by metaphorically, I mean I was the carry-on that weighed more. 😄
There is no mystery here. My girls and I were enjoying bagels, pizza by the slice, and indulgent desserts. (Zero regrets.) But I’ll be honest: the shift in how I felt in my body when I got home was noticeable.
Here’s the thing—I don’t diet. I don’t believe in punishment. I believe in joy, presence, and making choices that align with how you want to feel. That’s why, after a delicious detour, I gently return to my routines. No guilt. No drama. No crash cleanses.
This week on The Overthinker’s Guide to Joy podcast, I sat down with my friend and colleague Laura Conley, a weight loss coach who helps people heal their relationship with food. We talk about breaking the cycle of yo-yo dieting, navigating body shame, and what it really means to “lose weight for the last time.”
If you’ve ever struggled with this topic—or even just felt a little off in your own skin—you’ll want to tune in. It’s honest, hopeful, and refreshingly shame-free.
