What Needs Healing in Your Life Right Now?

December 4, 2025

This week, I managed to tweak a little something—nothing dramatic, nothing that will even make for a great story later. But it’s the kind of irritation that you’re reminded of every time you sit, stand, lie down,  or move the wrong way.

And even though I know it will heal in a few days, it got me thinking about pain.

Whether it’s tiny like a paper cut or big like a broken bone or something more serious, pain has a way of stopping us in our tracks. It can be scary. It is certainly disruptive. But often, it’s a message.

When something in our bodies demands our attention—whether it’s a bruise, a cold, a chronic issue, a heartbreak, or grief—it’s often the universe’s gentle (or not-so-gentle) nudge to slow down. Not to quit, not to retreat from life, but simply to be kinder to ourselves.

And, of course,  the holiday season doesn’t make it any easier to slow down because ‘Tis the season of overdoing.’

Whether it is holiday prep, events, invitations, expectations, shopping lists, “don’t forget” lists, or that old familiar “I can do it all” mindset. Some of us shift straight into hyper–people–pleasing mode without even noticing.

But healing, whether it is physical or emotional, needs space.

This morning, as I was feeling sorry for myself about my latest bump and bruise, I did a guided “healing meditation.” Five minutes. Nothing heroic. Just sitting quietly and breathing into the part of me that needed a little extra compassion.

I’ve used this same meditation for all kinds of things: acute injuries, chronic aches, moments when I felt emotionally cracked open, times when my heart felt bruised from loss or disappointment. And every time, I’m reminded of something simple but powerful…

Healing—whether it’s your skin, your muscles, your heart, or your spirit—responds to love, attention, and breath.

And no, this doesn’t replace medication, salves, bandages, or any other professional care that’s appropriate. It’s just another way to support the body and mind—a way to remember that we are active participants in our own recovery.

So if you’re moving a little too fast right now, pushing yourself past your limits, or if something hurts—physically or emotionally—maybe today is your nudge.

Slow down and breathe. Give yourself the care you’d offer to someone you love.

And if you’re going through emotional pain that feels like it needs more than a few quiet breaths, I’m here. Sometimes healing is easier—and quicker—when someone walks alongside you.

If you’d like support, reach out. Let’s talk, and let’s help you find your way back to steadiness and strength. You can schedule a session with me right here.

With love,
Jackie
