Life can be challenging, and sometimes, we may feel overwhelmed by the physical or emotional burdens we carry.
Amidst the chaos, we must remember to hold a place where self-compassion can blossom. For me, this is found in my morning meditation, journaling, and on long walks.
In one of my meditation practices, I was reminded of this beautiful mantra of self-compassion:
May I Be Happy
May I Be Healthy
May I Be Safe
May I Live with Ease
When we repeat these words as an incantation, we awaken the spirit of self-compassion within us.
Often, we find ourselves striving for an unattainable standard of perfection. (This is the single most common denominator among all of my clients.)
Perfectionism is a heavy burden to carry.
By releasing this burden, and embracing our imperfections, we free ourselves from emotional paralysis and self-doubt.
Through self-compassion, we learn that embracing our flaws is not a sign of weakness, but a testament to our strength and authenticity.
The true bonus of self-compassion is that when we learn to nurture ourselves, we radiate love and understanding to those around us, which has a ripple effect.
You deserve the same love and care you readily give to others.
Self-compassion is a lifelong journey, one that requires patience and practice.
So take a moment each day, and practice self-compassion. You are worthy of love, always.
With love and compassion,
Jackie
