Be Patient

June 26, 2024

There is a sign in my office that reads:

BE PATIENT.

I had this sign custom-made as a not-so-subtle reminder of what I need to do EVERY day.

Many of us, me included, have come to expect immediate gratification because we are used to everything happening at lightning speed in today’s world.

When it comes to big things like finding a new job, waiting for a deal to close, finding the right home, or even the right partner, things don’t come on demand, like pre-ordering your Starbucks drink or binge-watching your favorite TV show.

So, how do we manage our minds and our anxiety when we are at the mercy of others as we wait for the next big thing?

We need to focus on what we CAN control and let go of the rest.

On the physical level,  this means eating healthy, staying hydrated, exercising, and learning to meditate.

On the practical level, it means being productive. If you are a writer, then write. If you are a musician, then practice. If you are in sales, build your network.

Maintaining a daily schedule and staying productive will make you feel more in control and attract more of what you want.

When you are productive and focused on being your best, you won’t wait for others to create your happiness; you will be in charge of your own well-being.

Of course, this all requires PATIENCE.

Patience with others and patience with YOURSELF.

Just remember, “good things come to those who wait,”

And good things are coming!

Happy Wednesday!
