Garage or Garbage?

May 1, 2025

The other day, I was mindlessly scrolling through social media and misread the word garage as garbage.

It made me laugh—and then it made me think.

A garage is a space where we store valuables: our cars, tools, workout gear, maybe even a second fridge for party supplies. It holds things we might need, use, or want to return to.

Garbage, on the other hand, is for what we’ve already decided has no value.

It got me wondering: How often do we confuse the two? Not just with stuff but also with our thoughts, emotions, and habits.

Sometimes, we need to pause and ask:
What am I holding onto that still serves me?
And what’s just clutter I’ve let pile up?

So here’s my question for you…

What are you keeping in your literal—or metaphorical—garage?

What deserves to be dusted off, repurposed, and put to use?
And what just needs to be wheeled to the curb as garbage?

Because often, physical clutter reflects mental clutter. And sometimes, organizing our minds starts with asking better questions.

If you’re dealing with overwhelm, overthinking, or emotional messiness, coaching is like hiring a professional organizer for your brain.
