Why is it so hard to prioritize ourselves??
It is probably because we were told that taking care of ourselves was selfish.
But Self-Care is not selfish, it is necessary!
We think that if we put everyone else’s needs first, there will be some kind of reward. Like a gold medal? Or a Fairy Godmother to take care of us?
Not true.
The truth is that when we put our own needs on the back burner and take care of everyone else’s needs first, we just end up burning out.
Learning to develop the skill of prioritizing our own needs AND letting go of the guilt is the key to a happier, healthier you.
And I know, that letting go of the guilt is probably the hardest part.
