Work Harder, Play Harder

July 24, 2024

Do you remember building a fort with sofa cushions or jumping from one piece of furniture to another, pretending the living room carpet was hot lava?

Do you remember plunging into the pool on the first summer day or a family vacation?

Do you remember having sleepovers, playing board games, eating snacks, and laughing until the wee hours of the night?

The world would be a much better place if we all indulged in a little more playtime.

Stress comes in many forms: Deadlines, bills, bosses, and sometimes even deciding what to make for dinner… for the rest of your life. 🙂

But taking time out to play, whether a physical sport or an old-fashioned board game, is the ultimate stress buster.

Playing is the original social network.

From charades to a pickup basketball game, play fosters connections and builds relationships. It’s a chance to laugh with friends and meet new people.

Play stimulates creativity and imagination.

Play keeps our minds sharp and alert. Games that require strategy, memory, and quick thinking are like mental workouts.

It’s scientifically proven that laughter and play release endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. Embracing play allows us to reconnect with our inner child and remember the simple joys of life.

Play is not reserved for the young. It’s vital to a healthy, happy ADULT life.

So, the next time you’re feeling overwhelmed by the demands of adulthood or just feeling a little blue, take a break and go PLAY. Your stress levels, creativity, and inner child will thank you.

If you want to reconnect with the joy in your life, let’s talk. Book your free 30-minute coaching session with me now. Click here to schedule.

Happy Wednesday!

xo, Jackie
