The Overthinker's Guide to Joy with Jackie de Crinis | Lessons I Learned from a Dog

Ep #29: Lessons I Learned from My Dog

March 23, 2022

I came up with today’s topic because two of my daughters have just started remote working, and as I was telling them to take advantage of this flexibility, take breaks for movement etc., they reminded me that this won’t be an issue because they both have dogs who need taking outside.

I remember someone saying that dogs are not only our best friends, but our greatest teachers. If you’ve had a job where you work long hours, have a significant commute, or are juggling family and work, you know that the first sacrifice is your self-care routine. However, with the rise of remote working, there’s a new opportunity to improve our work-life balance and our daily self-focused habits. And this is where the dog comes in.

Whether it’s staying hydrated, making time to play, or living in the moment, there is so much about our furry friends’ lifestyle we could learn from. And if we took care of ourselves the way we look after our animals, life would look a lot different.

If you want to learn more tips for managing your stress and your overthinking brain, I highly recommend signing up for my weekly newsletter here!
