Chronic stress is a killer. Literally and metaphorically.
In the short run, it kills joy.
In the long run, it kills everything.
I know because it was killing my joy and my well-being.
When I was suffering from chronic stress and anxiety, I just assumed everyone tolerated daily headaches, muscle tension, overthinking, insomnia, and hyper-vigilance.
I learned to live with my stress like ones does with a dysfunctional relationship.
Stress and anxiety were so common amongst my colleagues in the television industry, I just assumed it was normal. Or I accepted that it was MY normal.
But eventually, I learned that just because something is “common” doesn’t mean it is “normal.”
Chronic stress is something we tolerate in our lives, but it is a choice.
It is something we cultivate and perpetuate because we THINK we have to… but we don’t.
In this week’s episode of The OverThinker’s Guide To Joy” podcast, I explore where recurring patterns of stress and anxiety might come from, and how to stop the cycle. You can listen here or wherever you get your podcasts.
If you are struggling with chronic stress, let’s chat. You can schedule a free consultation with me here or send me a message.
Happy Wednesday!
