Ep #111: Grief: Around the Holidays

December 11, 2024

For many people, the holidays are about joy, family, friends and celebration. But for many, the holiday season can stir up feelings of grief.

If the holidays feel heavy for you this year, you’re not alone. Grief and love are deeply connected, and both can coexist, even in the holiday season.

Today, I’ll share the story of how losing my mother to cancer when I was 10 years old forever shaped my holiday seasons, and how I found strength in both honoring old traditions and creating new ones.

If you want to learn more tips for managing your stress and your overthinking brain, I highly recommend signing up for my weekly newsletter here!

What You Will Discover:

  • Why grief surfaces during the holidays
  • How the holidays have been shaped by the loss of the mother, having a family, and becoming an empty nester
  • How journaling, rituals of connection, creating new traditions and support can help in navigating grief
